For coloring hair in dark shades, mix henna with indigo powder and add water (at least 80°C). Stir until it reaches a consistency similar to sour cream. Apply the slightly cooled mixture to clean, dry hair and cover with a warming cap. Adjust the ratio of henna to indigo powder according to the desired color. The coloring process can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. After coloring, rinse the hair with water without using shampoo. The final color will appear after 24 hours. It is not recommended to dye light-colored hair without using henna.

There are two methods for combining henna and indigo powder: separate and simultaneous application.

For separate application, first dye the hair with henna as described above, and then with indigo powder. Prepare the indigo powder in the same way as henna, just before application, but the mixture should be slightly more liquid. After the waiting time, rinse the hair with warm water.

The duration depends on the desired shade, on average:

- 15-20 minutes for a light brown shade;

- 1-1.5 hours for a chestnut shade;

- 2-3 hours for an intense black color.

For simultaneous application, place the required amount of henna and indigo powder (50-200 g total, depending on hair length) into a container, add boiling water, and mix until a uniform paste forms, achieving a thick sour cream consistency. Use a specific ratio of henna to indigo powder to get the desired hair shade.

For achieving:

- a light brown tone: use 1 part henna to 1 part indigo powder; processing time - 30 minutes;

- a light chestnut tone: use 1 part henna to 1 part indigo powder; processing time - 1 hour;

- a chestnut tone: use 1 part henna to 2 parts indigo powder; processing time - 1.5 hours;

- a bronze tone: use 2 parts henna to 1 part indigo powder; processing time - 1.5 hours;

- a black color: use 1 part henna to 3 parts indigo powder; processing time - 4 hours.

After coloring hair with indigo powder, avoid using shampoo or other alkaline products for at least three days post-coloring.

If the color turns out darker than desired after using indigo powder, you can rinse your hair with water acidified with vinegar or lemon juice.
